I know my mom is anxiously waiting to see where I am at and what I'm up to!

The flight to Europe was interesting! The power for economy class wasn't working so we couldn't get any hot food, only ice cream and salad! Jajaja I didn't complain (I'm not a complainer) but couldn't help but wonder about all the kids and the Muslims who are fasting... That one meal was the only one they were going to get and they had a funky salad and an ice cream sandwich :-(

Anyway, when I got to Germany I was starving and had 8 hours to kill. Of course I would not spend those 8 hours in the airport so decided to go for a little adventure and took the train to Mainz. Got my ticket, and off I went...

I am sitting by the Rhine and I can't help but reminisce of the backpacking trip through Europe I did with Gi six years ago and went to the Rhine valley... Fun times!!!

Everytime I travel I have joy, I have a sense of freedom and in a way I let go, I become less structured and I "take it easy", I allow myself to be with myself, to be present, to breathe and to enjoy the here and now (and then I become like a maniac trying to do everything there is! Jajaja)

Friends sometimes call me "boring" or "too studious" or "not fun enough" because i don't go out or i don't drink, or i am too busy working or studying but to be honest I think that what they don't see is that I am determined and I have priorities that come way before going out and getting drunk.

While overlooking the Rhine the thought that came to my mind was "All your efforts are well worth it" and by that I mean that all the "sacrifices" I've made seem small compared to what I get to experience when I travel!

So here I am next to the calm river just letting time go by, being with myself and it feels good! No agenda, no nothing... Just being :-)

And now off to Namibia... Only 18 more hours to go until I hit destination #1! Yeay!
